Laura Vandervoort is shooting a new movie "The Reef" which is a straight to DVD sequel to the Jessica Alba flick "Into the Blue". Shooting just started in Hawaii and I have posted some photos here for you view- Laura in a bikini! Her co-stars in the film include Chris Carmack and David Anders. Carmack was on the OC and had a guest spot in Recruit as the guy who tried to drown Lois. Anders was last seen buried alive on Heroes.

OSCK’s speculations over news that Smallville Show Runners are Leaving

Today was a day full of controversy and some surprises. First- the article posted yesterday that ran on SCIFI Wire was revised after the news that season 8 would be the year of Lois and Clark coming into their own on Smallville. Executive Producer Brian Peterson must have gotten excited and ahead of himself because today the listing was revised and the LNC spoilers were removed- otherwise the post is pretty much the same.
Apparently things got so heated on the Television Without Pity forums yesterday they had to shut down the Smallville spoiler boards for a few hours. TWOP is home to Chloisers- fans of Smallville who cling to the belief that Chloe Sullivan is the real Lois Lane and one day she will magically step into Lois’s shoes even though Lois Lane was brought onto the series in Season 4 and is now a well established character well on her way to becoming the iconic Lois Lane fearless reporter that she has been in the comics for 70 years.
To stir the pot sources today posted an open letter from Smallville creators Millar and Gough stating they are leaving the show and will not be involved with season 8. You can go over to Mania.com and read the letter- it is also reprinted in this blog in the post just previous to this one.
What does this mean? It means your OSCK admins can laugh and strut a little bit and look to the sky for maybe there is hope that our superheroe’s destiny just became a lot closer.
Reviewing Smallville over the past 18 months:
Fall 2006 Season 6 premieres. Clark defeats Zod in the opening episode after escaping the Phantom Zone. The Green Arrow comes to town and Lex has someone new to expend his energy on in an enemy capacity as Oliver Queen is keeping him busy disrupting his plans. Lex is with Lana and Lana and Clark are seldom together. Clark spends time with Chloe, Oliver, Lois and his mom. I have been working this winter on putting together a series of reviews and summaries of the Superman Mythos in Smallville as preparation for the upcoming episode Veritas which will feature many loose ends and some new mysteries in the Smallville realm of Clark Kent and his journey to becoming Superman. Operation Save Clark Kent was created by an impassioned group of Smallville fans concerned about the show's ethical stance in portraying Clark Kent. This group, The Red Jacket Defenders, believes that the character portrayed on SMALLVILLE currently bears little resemblance to the character defined for over 70 years in American popular culture. They believe that SMALLVILLE's Clark Kent can be written to restore faith in the character and give hope, a staple of the SUPERMAN character, to future generations of SUPERMAN fans.
To support our efforts we are running a video contest for amateur video makers to submit their efforts for our cause.
*^Winners videos will be featured on the OSCK website and will be given official winners banners and promotional artwork they can post on their own sites.
Sorry no cash prizes- this is all about the glory!

Please include the following information with your video:
1) Your name, e-mail address and age and your Operation Save Clark Kent forum user name if applicable**
2) The Title of your video,
3) A short description of what your focus is and what you were trying to say with your entry
4) Please list the music and video source material used in your submission ( episode #, movie etc)
5) Please list the video making program you used to make your video
6) Please list any user account info or other website that you own that you want included with your video- ie YouTube/MySpace/Veoh/Dailymotion/Stage6 user name or your own video / fan site
Please load your video to one of these sites www.veoh.com , http://www.stage6.divx.com , www.rapidshare.com , www.filefront.com , or www.megaupload.com and include the link with your submission. If video is under 20 MB in size you can simply e-mail it directly with your video submission information.
Once your entry has been received it will be posted to a special video channel for the contest.
Operation Save Clark Kent members will vote on their favorites along with a panel of judges.
Winners will be notified by e-mail.
